A journey to Zambia to listen, learn and share

Looking back and looking ahead; development from the perspective of people

Surveys show that as much as 40% of the Norwegian people do not know much about Norwegian collaboration with developing countries and about the countries with long standing agreements with Norway on aid for development.  In response, the Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation, NORAD, has initiated a special project that invites NORAD "veterans" to travel back to the country where they have been previously engaged.  They are joined by selected representatives of the "Norwegian people" - to listen, learn and report back.  Once selected, these people's representatives will serve as "frontline reporters" and use newspapers, social media and other ways to share their experiences and impressions from the journey with the Norwegian public.

Zambia is one of the three countries selected for this kind of a journey in 2011.  The other countries are Nepal and South Africa.

The visit to Zambia will take place from November 20th to December 1st.  Norwegian readers can follow the journey.

There will be a concert by a well known Norwegian hip-hop group Wednesday, 30th November at Lusaka Motor Club.
